I am a freelance paralegal specializing in real estate title research with over 20 years of experience.
My interest in this field was initially piqued in 2004 with a data entry position typing up searches. From there my work evolved to include title examination, coordination, attorney opinion prep, and curative. Much of my experience revolved around bank-owned (“real-estate owned” or “REO”) properties, where the consequences of fast-and-cheap searches procured at refinance-loan origination are most acutely suffered.
Since 2015 I have searched title exclusively, implementing all the lessons and mistakes in those years of examining others’ work into my own practice. As a friend and previous co-worker of mine once said, “title should tell a story”, and I enjoy the process of watching the story of a certain piece of property unfold.
